What is it?
A fun exercise with the fruits and vegetables you eat daily. There are important differences: Most vegetables you have to cook, fruits you do not. Fruits contain sugar, vegetables do not. Fruits and vegetables are not so different as they are both very healthy. They contain a variety of vitamins and minerals essential to our health. They help us to stay fit and to protect us against diseases. By eating different kinds of fruits and vegetables, we give our bodies a healthy intake.
For who is it?
For parents and their children from the age of 6.
What can we do?
Make a game of it; is it a fruit or a vegetable and what is its name? Your child may ask what the difference is between a fruit and a vegetable. Do this exercise with the fruits and/or vegetables you have at home:
1. Is it a fruit or a vegetable?
2. What is the colour?
3. Name 5 more kinds of fruits/vegetables that have the same colour (tomato, paprika, pepper, apple, berries)
4. Name 3 more fruits/vegetables that begin with the same letter pear (potato, pineapple, pumpkin)
